Or 15 years ago they could have designed a new narrow body from scratch. Whatever bodge they come up with now - assuming the FAA, EASA and CAA approve it - which is very doubtful - does not make a bad aircraft suddenly better. It was a stillborn and should have been drowned at birth. All 400 undelivered airframes sitting around the globe should be turned into baked bean cans or something useful.

A pox on Boeing - they made the best planes in the world until the Dreamliner then it all went tits up. Like UK politics, it benefits no-one to have a monopoly.

50 year old diesel narrow boats with 2 people generally covered in cat hair and stinking of piss aren't quite the risk to mass death of nearly 200 people at a time. Was he an Air Traffic Controller at Land's End or summik?

The cat hair/piss smelling is not intended at Lock Keepers. Honest.

well said

As for 737's imho they'll still be flying 737 variants 100 years after that first flight.  But the 757 that arguably was supposed to replace it won't be
Well, whatever, nevermind

Apologies to TMR and his thread.
It's better than I ever even knew.  They say that the world was built for two.  Only worth living if somebody is loving you.  Baby now you do.

Normally, the big orange planes are full (156-186 seats). So far this morning:-

Milan Linate, 60 booked, 9 actually flew.
Milan Malpensa 44, 16
Bologna 50, 12
Venice 120, 43

This trend has been happening since it all "kicked off" in Italy. Won't be long before this is repeated in Spain, France, Germany...etc.

Also, as we clean the planes now, we supply the sanitising hand gel on the aircraft. We buy them for about £2.50 per 300ml. I've just seen  6 bottles of the same stuff selling on eBay for £114...also, the order for 300 boxes (3600 bottles) that is meant to arrive today is now delayed until 7th MAY as the suppliers have run out.

Is it time to stock up on tinned and dried goods?  eeek:
