It's turning into a bit of a massacre...

As expected, flight loads to Northern Italy are pitiful - today, 97 booked and only 8 turned up. Don't forget that that same flight 3 weeks ago had 156 booked (A319). Non-refundable tickets mainly, so we still fly and save shit loads on fuel. Future bookings, though, looking bleak...then they won't fly.

Even all-year-round stalwarts like Tenerife are suffering - 30-40 passengers not turning up for flights that are already 20-30 seats short of being full.

So far, Turkey, Egypt and Cyprus ( Thumbs:) holding up.

Unfortunately the authorities have had to stop using it because of safety concerns...

I guess not much relaxation from FlyBe becoming FlynottoBe.  Did they even do Gatwick?

They were fairly big a few years back - 15 or so departures a day. But soon after that they realised that they'd made a major blunder with expensively leased horrible Embraer 195s. Ghastly machines.  Soon after they disposed of them they dropped to just the PSO route to Newquay using a Dash 8. Not even sure that is still going though (South Terminal - I'm North)

Looks like Ryanair is cashing in on passengers booking alternatives to its cancelled flights to Italy. The tickets I bought to Malaga a few weeks back were £18 each way.  Tickets on the same flight are now £250 each way!

Ta

Operating a single route from an expensive airport like Gatwick hardly sounds like a sensible business plan but then sensible business plan and Flybe don't seem to go together
Well, whatever, nevermind

Increasingly looking like the party's over. Some ground handlers are sending their staff home on unpaid leave, passenger volumes decimated. We're not at that stage.

Yet.

26,500 passengers booked seats yesterday, only 17,000 turned up.

Ski flights are 100+ passengers down on expected numbers each flight. Italy is only repatriation flights. Cyprus will be the same tomorrow. Prague closed, Copenhagen closing, as will most of Spain. Even robust places like Tennergrief and Lanzagrotty only 2/3 full. Southern France weakening and Poland in lockdown.

I've just finished my last night shift and wonder what I will walk into when I'm back in Wednesday morning. Or should that be IF I'm back in on Wednesday morning  rubschin:

The thought of not being able to smash someone's fake Luis Vuitton to pieces is filling me with dread  eeek:
