A long day!! Nod is in charge of historical aspects of the trip and we had agreed that Ciudad Rodrigo, which I have been to before, is, as well as being a charming fortified town an interesting place to visit historically speaking. Nod had read up on the siege of 1812 and was highly excited

He was navigating, which essentially meant looking at the GPS on my phone and issuing instructions. That did not go well

He was OK at reading the on screen directions but less good at letting me know roughly which direction we were heading by looking at the map. I got grumpy (we both had horrific hangovers).
Me: Can you give me some idea of the direction to head in?
Him: I can't do two things at once!
Me: You can't do one thing at once

Anyway we got there an Nod led the way to the main exhibit: the cannonball damage to the exterior of the cathedral. That was it!!
We had lunch and left. AN hour's drive each way to see some holes. Here! Thriling!!

Still, Spanish roads are excellent and virtually empty. No potholes and no cones

Nod is going for a walk "and a couple of beers"
