Title: Bickering the VP virtual Surrey village.
Post by: Miss Creant Commander of the picklement and baking BAb(Hons) on March 24, 2012, 07:08:10 PM
Bickering is a small VP village in Surrey, although it could be moved elsewhere.  It has a village green and a duck pond. About a mile away is Little Bickering. The village has been around since the 7th century and has a fine Saxon church.

The VP is an old coaching house situated on 'main street' overlooking the village green.

We need to sort out who lives where but bags I live in the old bakery.

Nice to see you back JJ.  It seems appropriate for you to be the vet.   You have a lovely practice and three members of staff they are all young lovelies who make the local men have embarrassing trouser movements on each visit.

Of course you have to be here on a regular basis there are a lot of animals around and you are the only vet in the village.

On a completely different note I have arranged for 'Dave the bread' from Little Bickering to run the bakery in my absence, he is not quite as good as me but still one of the best.  Please visit the bakery's web site or see the posters in the window to see our special Easter offers.

Well, that all went rather smoothly IMHO.

It's a shame about the unfortunate stains on the village hall walls, and the roof of the old rectory will need re-tiling after the rather lively performance of 'her 'ouse' by the Bickering Girl Guides. The rafter has just about survived and poor Olivia is at least in a 'stable' condition, they will remove the rest of the splinters tomorrow.

The fact that there was only one fatality at the beacon lighting ceremony is a blessing and Councillor Owens and the vicars wife have apparently arrived safely in the Bahamas as far as I am aware not one of us had an inkling as to their shenanigans.

It was nice that so many of the residents of Little Bickering felt able and well enough to join us. I fear the Coronation Chicken was to blame for the outbreak of food poisoning following the Big Lunch.

I will attend to the bunting tomorrow and would like volunteers for litter picking duties.

Thank you all for your help. ;D

There were a number of arrests in Bickering  over the bank holiday...mostly drunk and disorderly...(Miss D, APC and TMR notably...DS was given a warning and an £80 fixed penalty (as he's a member of the gentry like))...urinating in a public place...(JOM) and one act of exposure in a public place...(BM, small fish...given a warning)

Misty was arrested under the drugs act (and had to be strip searched)  eyes: (was watching through the two way mirror)

Other offences, too many to mention as I'm using the WIFI in the local and having a swift half or two while still on duty...

That is all...

Can somebody remove the signs and cones at the gateways to the village, I've been callled away to prepare signs elsewhere. Oh, and if anybody wants the tin of baked beans and bottle of Asti Spumante I won in the raffle, they're underneath the end table

The beans and Asti can go into the next raffle. I need some volunteers to rattle collection boxes and man the cake stall on Saturday the 30th. Oh and someone to make the cakes for said stall. Snoops would you mind managing the PA system and dealing with any lost children, burying them is not an option neither is  sending them up the old rectory chimneys like you did last year. We still haven't found young Arthur Snodgrass noooo:

We need to start thinking about the Christmas Market and the switching on of the Christmas light.

Due to cutbacks the tree will now only be a 6 footer but we can put it on sleepers to make it look bigger, both Joan and Beatrice have volunteered to be sleepers as that is what they are most of the time they are more than willing to put the word around the care home and I am sure that more sleepers will be found.

I have been trying to find a local celebrity to switch the light on to no avail but our parliamentary representative is available  for a photo shoot on that day.

I am all for calling it a 'Dickens of a Christmas' and dressing asking the stall holders to dress accordingly. Does anyone know of a hot chestnut seller?

Mr C has been brewing some fairly awful wine which can be served in the shops that decide to stay open  for the occasion.

Following a number of recent posts, from myself included, I believe it is about time for a village outing, on the other hand a members sexual orientation is none of our concern, as it were, unless it was causing him/her pain or discomfort in which case maybe there would be a case for stepping in removing said member and screwing it on in the other direction.  I know little of such things and digress.

It is time to dust off the charabanc and have a jolly day out.  I suggest Wits End.  A number of us have been there recently and whilst it is not ideal it is far more easily accessible for all of us than Land's End or Beachy Head.

I will start making sandwiches in preparation.

Much ta Miss C, I will have a new radical approach to fighting fires.  Mainly this will be sitting in the impressive sounding new tea rooms eating all day breakfasts, working out the best odds at the betting shop and sending newly exonerated Pugh, Pugh and Barney McGrew on errands like fetching chips and doing any actual fire fighting.

Does this free WiFi come with a content filter??  Just asking on behalf of a friend of course

Do we think we can ask Beetlehook to organise ths week's Beetle Drive at the vllage hall?

Well let's face it none of the rest of us want to be within a mile of it.

Beetle Drive - the worstest night of my life....  noooo:
Was it the inanity of it or the faint whiffs of incontinence of the participants?

 lol: lol: lol:

That and the sense of pride when they finished the head....  noooo:

It was like play school....

I'd never heard of Beetle Drive, so I thought  eeek:  and   Shocked:

Thank feck for Google

I thought today that I would hunt out all the Easter eggs that Miss D had not found yesterday. The bunting can wait until tomorrow.

On Saturday I took delivery of 4,000 bedding plants and a large number of summer bulbs has anyone got spare greenhouse space?

I spoke to the head of the guerilla  gardening team, their tomatoes are coming along nicely, as is the rocket, lettuce and coriander, there has been an unfortunate incident involving mice and the broad beans. noooo:

Has anyone dug out and dusted the signs, ballot booths and boxes?  Who had the keys to the padlocks last?  I assume that we have agreed to be 'rotten Parish' and are cheating again this year.

JOM always looks after the signs...

Miss T had the padlocks and handcuffs last...

I think the ballot boxes went on the fire in The Snug during that cold snap....  redface:

Indeed...

I've got all emotional just reading it again - I can remember the report on the telly like it was yesterday...

Sadly, I remember ITV won all the awards for reporting of the war....

Ballot Boxes?  How quaint.  This will be all high tech like with lectric voting with real time status wisible

What could postibly go wrong?

As organiser of the poll (seems) and poster upper of the mandifestoes I cannot be a candidate.  We need to persuade Nick to take up the vacant Raving Monster Loony candidacy.

But I feel we should just co-op Growle (of the transplanted R) to be the Prostrate party

lol: And so the should be, is there a saint of cheese makers? If not I propose that we make one by making a poll then we can re- name the church and several roads.

As this is knob cheese I propose St.Prix  http://www.catholic.org/saints/saint.php?saint_id=5480 (http://www.catholic.org/saints/saint.php?saint_id=5480)

I have to admit to a certain degree of pleasure in having a Grand Prix Close, it may become overcrowded fairly quickly but we can get Bob the builder on the case!

Other suggestions please a poll might be needed.

Memo:

To the elected leader of the Bickering village council .

Miss C

Today I attended a meeting to discuss the Christmas deliveries (yes - already I here you groan) ... as usual my mind was wandering and I started to think about the Christmas Pantomime this year ...

Could I suggest that we do start to get ourselves organised with ideas then scripts earlier this year ....

Perhaps some of the residents could make (clean) suggestions as to what we could produce and who could write the script..  In the first instance....

Then progressing to who will take on the characters ..

Respectfully your deputy

Boogs ...
