Well there’s the thing. Every time this comes up of forums various no one can find any that stand up to even mild tyre kicking
So why don’t you have a go
See, there is your problem right there!
Nigel is a ‘liar’ but everything everybody on the remain side has said is perfectly acceptable and doesn’t even stand up to ‘a mild tyre kicking’…
You don’t think that might be a slightly biased view of things…? How about, “we’ll respect the referendum result” for starters…? Or, “There will be no EU Army”…?
And sure, I’m biased too in the opposite direction. But do I think everything said by Leavers was 100% true and verifiable? No, of course not.
Politicians lie, it is a way of life to them, second nature. Everybody knows that surely? At every campaign, be it Local election, National or the Referendum you have to listen to the lies and exaggeration and decide which set of promises are most plausible or deliverable - often which set you like the least.
It shouldn’t be like that but it is – and not just in the UK either, it is a world-wide phenomena. Didn’t Labour even go to court to prove that their election manifesto wasn’t a commitment do actually do anything that was written in it…?
So in that context is Nigel any more of a ‘liar’ than the rest of them?
Take your list. It would be pointless to go through it but at the very top you have, "EU membership costs £55m a day". Okay, so perhaps that is too high. Perhaps it is the gross figure but the correct figure isn’t ‘zero’ and is in the tens of millions of Pounds. And isn’t a fixed amount and is likely to grow in the future. So is that really a ‘lie’ worth calling out and beyond anything anybody on the Remain side said…?
