Can't be arsed to watch the whole programme but from this snippet seems Nigel didn't exactly dominate

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-politics-48222583/brexit-debate-heats-up-on-question-time

I'm sure the segments that the BBC chose from the show are completely unbiased and representative...  lol:

I'll watch the whole thing laters and let you know.  ;)
yes please

Well, whatever, nevermind

I have concluded that he is a narcissistic hypocrite. His performance on QT last night was shocking. It is all about him (and his kids with German passports). He deserves a good kicking at the EU elections. He does very nicely out of the EU and what is his pension?  The man is a twat masquerading as a beer and fags man of the people.

And I reckon he'll be doing the kicking at the EU elections...  ;)

PS I haven't watched the whole thing yet but the audience certainly seemed to like at least some of what he had to say...

Yep

I have to say he's a good speaker, definitely a leader and I'll give him some credit for trying to rid UKIP of its worst bigots

But he's also a disingenuous sometimes lying little shit that ultimately cares about himself first, next and last and not those millions of people that are so owned by him
Well, whatever, nevermind

Quote a lie...?

Let's start with:  "EU membership costs £55m a day"

or there's ""There is nothing we can do to stop unlimited numbers of people from EU countries settling in this country and enjoying the same rights and privileges as all the rest of us."

or ""Since the Treaty of Maastricht we have been citizens of the EU and this passport is available to 580million people."

or that poster

or “That same boss of Europol said that the [EU’s] migration policy… has led to up to 5,000 jihadis coming into the European Union in the space of the last 15 months.”

or "Here's a fact…there are 7,000 diagnoses in this country every year of people that are HIV positive… 60% of them are not British nationals"

or “You’ve got 50,000 Welsh patients, who because your cancer care provisions are so poor, actually went to England.”

or "508 million people… if they wish, can come to this country. We have no control. The only way we get control is to vote to leave the European Union”

it's what he does

Well, whatever, nevermind

See, there is your problem right there!

Nigel is a ‘liar’ but everything everybody on the remain side has said is perfectly acceptable and doesn’t even stand up to ‘a mild tyre kicking’…

You don’t think that might be a slightly biased view of things…? How about, “we’ll respect the referendum result” for starters…? Or, “There will be no EU Army”…?

And sure, I’m biased too in the opposite direction. But do I think everything said by Leavers was 100% true and verifiable? No, of course not.

Politicians lie, it is a way of life to them, second nature. Everybody knows that surely? At every campaign, be it Local election, National or the Referendum you have to listen to the lies and exaggeration and decide which set of promises are most plausible or deliverable - often which set you like the least.

It shouldn’t be like that but it is – and not just in the UK either, it is a world-wide phenomena. Didn’t Labour even go to court to prove that their election manifesto wasn’t a commitment do actually do anything that was written in it…?

So in that context is Nigel any more of a ‘liar’ than the rest of them?

Take your list. It would be pointless to go through it but at the very top you have, "EU membership costs £55m a day". Okay, so perhaps that is too high. Perhaps it is the gross figure but the correct figure isn’t ‘zero’ and is in the tens of millions of Pounds. And isn’t a fixed amount and is likely to grow in the future. So is that really a ‘lie’ worth calling out and beyond anything anybody on the Remain side said…?

It wasn't ever even the gross figure.  It was possibly an original schoolboy error down in the depths of what passes for UKIP research but Farage continued to use it long after he knew it was woefully false.  And what is a false statement knowingly made? https://fullfact.org/economy/our-eu-membership-fee-55-million/

It's what he does unlike most politicians

Still waiting for those supposed remain campaign lies you mentioned.  Let me help you.  The two supposed ones usually mentioned are:

a) the emergency budget:  but we got one, just a different one because the Tory back benchers made it clear they'd block the Osborne plan.  people still lost out though as devaluation caused prices to outstrip wages

b) the £4.300 per household.  But it was a forecast for 2030 and a forecast David Davis was eventually forced to admit his redone analyses came up with the same ball park figure.  And so he tried to bury them and lied about them.  Unluckily for him there is that thing called Buzzfeed
Well, whatever, nevermind

So it is actually £35M per day according to your link...? ::)

And that is an outrageous lie unlike any told 'by most politicians'...?  lol:

Yarp. See, there really is no point discussing this with you is there...?  noooo:

Tell you what you lend me £55 and I'll pay you back £35 and see if you think that's fair.  The true figure when you look at grants we're bound to replicate is nearer £30 a day.

But ask yourself why did the supposed saintly Nigel keep saying all those headline grabbing false figures?

That is actually a very good analogy for the way the EU works isn’t it…?

We’re committed to paying them billions every year but they very kindly let us off a bit of it (for now) and generously spend a bit of it back in the UK.

It is rather like a mugger stealing your wallet then giving you a fiver out of it for the taxi home!

And why did he keep repeating it? The reason is simple isn’t it?

Every single time Nigel said, “We send £55M a day to the EU”, all the Remainers all piped-up and said, “Oh no we don’t, it is only £30M per day!”

But the British public (well millions of them anyway) didn’t say, “Oh only £30M? That is okay then, thanks for the taxi fare home”.

They said, “£30M? Fuck me, that is a vast amount of cash! That would be better spent in the UK!”

Rather clever really…  lol:
