Perhaps I'm being overly cynical here but are you saying that she held a stick of dynamite and lit it thinking it was a candle because if that was the case then surely her injuries would have been far more severe...

How shocking (not) that there's a blame/claim involved

I'm pretty convinced that it's going to end up being some kind of cherry bomb or firework that she was too stupid to realise clearly wasn't a candle.

My first reaction on reading this was to laugh but now I've considered it more I can see this setting a precedent of accusations of racism because the person involved can't understand the language.

The language fanatics down here "wouldn't sully the pristine Cornish tongue with such profanity" as I've been told. I'm more inclined to believe that they don't see the point in swearing at someone if they can't understand the insults.
