So...the old clutch was a little bit grabby on the Triumph. No problem, thought I, oil it.  As I'm sure you're aware, it is quite difficult to really get the oil down a cable, so I sought advice from my classic-bike owning neighbour.

He told of a contraption that attaches to the top of the cable and allows you so inject oil thus allowing decent oiling. He told me they only cost about a tenner "look it up on the internet, it's called a Lube Tube or something like that". So I Googled  eeek:

Perhaps I shouldn't trust these older folk anymore...

This last one has

Quote
Cable Oiler. This is the product we use in the work shop, very easy and quick, clamps round cable and allows pressure oiling using WD40 or similar. Cleaning and lubricating cables is always going to be a messy job. When you use this there is some leakage of WD40 around the cable, but this is still the best way to service cables. Because the tool allows pressure oiling the dirt is forced out at the same time as the lubricant is forced in.
Price £6.00 including UK P&P

As I predicted all those months ago, Shane "Shakey" Byrne won the British Superbikes Championship.

He seems a tad pleased...

Yup. £50, but the odds weren't great - only 7/4.
