JOM, next Tuesday ...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00tndz9

Quote
It is week three of the competition and the six remaining bakers are making bread in Kent. If they found cakes and biscuits challenging, it's bread that's considered the real test of a baker's mettle.
In the shadow of Sarre Windmill, the bakers will be kneading, proving and knocking back their dough under the watchful eye of baking writer Mary Berry and master baker Paul Hollywood. And as they battle it out to produce the perfect loaf, Mel and Sue will be tasting Britain's earliest bread roll, finding out what happened to bread during the Industrial Revolution and relating the hidden history of the sandwich.
Making bread is an ancient skill. Which of the bakers will best cope with the pressure and who will be the one who has to leave the Bake Off?

 ;D

Top-tip
Don't watch The Great British Bake-off when the cupboards are bare
I've just watched them make, fish pie, chicken, leek and ham pie , chicken and mushroom pie, beef and onion pie, cornish pasties, assorted tarts, canapes  Drool: Drool: Drool:

Oh fvck... ok, if you must  ;)

This is for a 500gr loaf and of course follow the sequence ...  whistle:

1 egg
water 185ml including the egg in a container, then
80ml semi skimmed milk
350gr unbleached white flour
2 tsp's of cocoa powder (NOT drinking choccy!)
1 tsp salt
25gr caster sugar
15gr butter
1 tsp of yeast
50g of of plain, continental dark choccy broken into bits (I use Black & Green's Organic 70% Cocoa dark choccy)

Add the choccy bits after 20 mins of programme 1 (ordinary white loaf) on the kneading cycle.

I was on the phone to Nick whilst adding the choccy bits; it sounded like pouring nuts and bolts into the machine!  razz:

The fruit loaf challenge beckons  scared2:

I think it'll have to be made tomorrow ~ I've collected all the ingredients ~ and tomorrow's dinner out with friends so Saturday morning will be too late.
Just how much mixed spice to include, eh?  rubschin:
