Had a nightmare today!  scared2:

We have an electric gate at the front of the house... Not really a gate, it is a 7m long barrier that runs sideways on a little track.

It is a little annoying as it is (now, the previous owner removed the pedestrian gate) the only entrance to the house. Once you start it in motion you can't stop or reverse it until it reaches its parked position. There is an IR sensor so I presume it will stop closing if the beam is interrupted...  rubschin:

Anyhoo...

SOP is to press the button on the remote as we approach so I can swing the car round and reverse up the driveway...

Returning from the shops today, press the remote as I approach and the gate barrier starts to open as normal...

Get closer and realise there is a mahoosive, bright green Chameleon sitting on the (now moving) gate barrier and heading towards the mechanism that guides the gate barrier around a corner!  eeek:

Stop the car and leap out to try and remove the beast which starts to attack me!  evil:

His front leg is now entering the mechanism of the gate barrier!  eeek:

Grabbed the gate barrier and pulled it backwards to release the poor sod which causes it to stop moving and declutch (or whatever) so I can grab the Chameleon and rescue it from certain death!  angel1

Fortunately it seemed unharmed, changed colour and wandered off to hide in the track of the gate barrier. facepalm:

Second resecue.  Thumbs:
