I had a friend who did this to their laptop. It never recovered properly, some keys worked some didn't so the had to buy a new keypad.  As it then lost it's ability to be a laptop a Chrome Book was purchased this was used enthusiastically as a laptop until said 'friend' fell asleep with a glass of wine in their hand which then slopped all over the keypad and broke it. The Chrome Book is currently at the local computer hospital not sure if it is going to recover or not.  noooo:
