Switching ISPs

I was on the point of switching ISPs during the week when, at the last moment, the new one came clean and admitted they couldn't host my domain or email addresses. I cancelled the order, the direct debit instruction etc but they said it was too late, the switch would take place anyway.  eeek:

So, in short, they were unable to do what they offered... and then they were unable NOT to do the switch. Quite ridiculous  ::)

After a certain amount of anxiety and preparing for disconnection and the process of reconnection I began to smile. On checking the paperwork I'd given the new ISP my telephone number... except the number for the broadband is split off the fax number; a different number entirely  razz:

You will now be inundated with telephone calls and letters from BT trying to lure you to their services.
I am still fighting them off ~ two years after I switched.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

Yep, you're right. BT's letter arrived on Friday  ::) 

I haven't had any BT services directly for about 3 or 4 years. Is it conceivable that someday they may come through with a better offer?        tunble:

I've told them the deal I have both verbally and by letter and invited them to better it or p*ss off. They still come back every three months. I have asked them not to and demanded that they remove my name from their mailing lists. Apparently, because I was once a customer, the law says they may continue to pester me. So I can stop mail from a company I have never dealt with but not one that I have. I have written to their CEO and got referred to "Customer Relations". My argument that I would rather stand on a hill with two flags as a means of communication than ever return to them seems to carry no weight. I have now resorted to abuse whenever they phone and to returning their letters clearly marked "Deceased" but still they come. Banghead

Up to a point that is true, but if you havent been a customer in years then they are on shakey ground.

BT do have a nusiance calls department so l'd suggest calling them and seeing what they do. Mention nusiance calls, ofcom & the information comissioner and you should have their undivided attention. Especially if you tell them that they record all calls not just some and as a result you will make an official DPA request for all your info including the call recording if your details arent suppressed and the suppression confirmed in writing.

Anytime Snoop, sloppy marketting strategies  and DNC list maintenance royally pisses me off as it reflects badly on those of us who make the effort to do the job properly.
