OK Let us twist the scenario ~ suppose that the child was considered by her Mother, Auntie, Grannie to be at risk from the Step Father or that the Mother, perhaps knowing of the Step Father's liking for kiddie porn, thought that it was time to hoof him out and has discussed the how and why of this with her rellies .... so they hatch a plot to frighten him by spiriting her away and hiding her with an Uncle where they feel she will be safe and they can pop in and out to make sure all is well. Then they report her missing (it took them some time to do this remember) and sit back and let the hue and cry put the skids under the Step Father who they wanted to "get".
So far there has been no evidence or even suggestion that she has been harmed or molested ~ in fact those neighbours that were interviewed after having seen her being taken away by a police officer from the flat where she was "found" all said she looked happy and relaxed about the whole thing ..... hardly the way one would expect a child who had been in the hands of a peado for several weeks to be described.
There is so much in this and the more that comes out the less certain I am that it is/was a simple abduction for sexual purposes.
