NZ Day 19

Wellington.

Exploring Wellington in the sunshine again – what a lovely city!

Walked through the harbour, took the cable car to the botanical gardens and met a very friendly Apiarist who told us all about his art while surrounded by a cloud of bees!

Then back down to the town stopped at a lovely old pub for a beer and back to the hotel.

Some pictures are duplicated due to a camera (photographer  redface:) malfunction...
  great stuff

I should have made time for Wellington then, ah well
Well, whatever, nevermind

Have fun, looks interesting and the scenery on South Island is stunning

Can't see us ever doing NZ again though the same way I can't see us not going to Oz or Argentina again.  Mt Egmont will just have to survive without me seeing it
Well, whatever, nevermind

NZ Day 20

Wellington

Interesting day, walked up the road and got breakfast, then a visit to the Weta Workshop which was terrible - 1˝ hours of our lives that we will never get back… facepalm:

However, the Weta Workshop people (Lord of the Rings, Avatar, etc.) were responsible for the models in the ‘Gallipoli The Scale of Our War’ exhibition at the Museum of New Zealand where we went next – it was sensational! A detailed time-line of the Gallipoli invasion with various exhibits, commentaries from veterans and the most incredible models of the participants – they look ‘real’ but must be at lest 4m tall! Extremely moving…  cry:

Eating in the hotel (Hot Sauce Restaurant where a transvestite welcomed us when we went to book a table earlier!  eeek:) and then off to Picton on the ferry early doors tomorrow…

NZ Day 21

Wellington to Picton to Marlborough

Splendid day!

Up early for a taxi to the inter Island Ferry, the most beautiful crossing to the South Island landing at Picton and then a lovely drive to Marlborough. The most beautiful scenery in Marlborough Sounds and seals too!

Took LL to the hospital as she still has a bad cough where they made her wear a mask and put her in isolation! Thankfully released shortly thereafter when Bronchitis was diagnosed and new meds prescribed.

Then a quick wander round the town via the beautiful war memorial and off to a ‘Gastro Pub’ (with a hidden secret) for dinner and collapso...
