Bastard windows 10!!!!!!!!! "invalid object in the boot configuration data store"  Banghead

Can't even use my recovery USB because the bloody machine ignores it even though the boot sequence has been altered to us it first.

Looks like I'm getting some blank DVD's tomorrow to burn one off.

Downloaded and burned off an ISO and managed to get into the recovery menu.

Automatic recovery? About as much use as a castor on a crutch

No matter I can access the command prompt and fix it that way.

Disk volumes are healthy  :thumbsup:
Bootrec /fixmbr successful  :thumbsup:
Bootrec /fixboot access denied  Banghead

Apparently the only way to get around this is to download another earlier windows 10 ISO and use that instead  cussing:

Thank God for unlimited downloads, by the end of this one I'm looking at somewhere between 15 and 20Gb of Windows ISO and other related crap over the last day and a bit.  cussing:

Bootrec /rebuildbcd seems to have done something...  rubschin:
Startup repair now seems to be working and repairing....  scared2:

Startup repair didn't work so I decided to try old school.
Made a backup of the BCD file in command prompt
Set the original to -r -s -h
re ran the bootrec /rebuildbcd command.

I may still need Tel, my graphics card is not working and on board graphics are overwritten when it's plugged in...  Banghead

It wasn't the windows update that gubbed my machine earlier, twas another program that then had to restart the machine to finish it's update. I'm sure I'll survive this windows update.  :thumbsup:

Oh noooo !!

The last upgrade truly gubbed  my laptop ...and I am just a mere Doris that has no understanding of such things so would simply have to buy a new one to get it working again  ;D
