Did this last night.  Took 3 hours and two of the desktop icons have disappeared. ..

One was Spybot  - which it decided to uninstall - not sure what the other one was...

And how is it...?

Haven't had a chance to fiddle properly yet - had to get some sleep before work this morning. Will report back later.

Installed and having a poke around now, so far the only thing I appear to have lost is Avast as the installation decided to replace it with Windows Defender.

I have a start menu again  cloud9:

Email is taking a while to update but given how many emails there are in that account it isn't that surprising  rubschin:

Going to have to work through the settings again as the number of background applications running is almost at android level so RAM and battery levels are likely to take a hammering. noooo:

Automatic connection to my Xbox live account.  cloud9:

I'll need more time to look at it but edge seems to be a decent browser so far. Haven't got a touch screen so can't try the 'writing on the web' bit.  rubschin:

Windows update now seems to be mandatory as opposed to before where you could choose if your didn't want certain updates installed. I can see this being problematic for anyone who has a limited download limit given how often Microsoft release updates and hotfixes.  noooo:

Anything involving "WINDOWS" and "upgrade" is 100% guaranteed to cause problems. The end.
