It took off okay then started drifting backwards towards the house...

...I twiddled all the controls as best I could and it did a loop and crashed...  redface:

There is a great line in Bob Mason's book, Chickenhawk...

He is learning to fly helicopters for the US Cavalry (eventually to serve in Vietnam)...

After his first lesson his instructor says he is a natural. "What do you mean?", says Bob, "I was all over the field".

"Yes", says the instructor, "We just have to practice in smaller and smaller fields!".

Methinks I need a bigger field for the next flight....  redface:

BTW - one of the best books I've ever read....

He is learning to fly helicopters for the US Cavalry (eventually to serve in Vietnam)...

After his first lesson his instructor says he is a natural. "What do you mean?", says Bob, "I was all over the field".

"Yes", says the instructor, "We just have to practice in smaller and smaller fields!".

Methinks I need a bigger field for the next flight....  redface:
