That seems fair. 
If it was a company director and the revenue were after your old documentation regarding where the munny might have gone, I am sure they might not accept shredding of your owld paperwork as acceptable and let you off.

I've got a garage full of paperwerk for my last business venture which I have to keep for years... Just in case the taxman wants to have a look like...

He is learning to fly helicopters for the US Cavalry (eventually to serve in Vietnam)...
After his first lesson his instructor says he is a natural. "What do you mean?", says Bob, "I was all over the field".
"Yes", says the instructor, "We just have to practice in smaller and smaller fields!".
Methinks I need a bigger field for the next flight....
BTW - one of the best books I've ever read....
