The Human Rights Act is Here to Stay

So Nick, despite the fact that time after time the HRA has been proven to be a useless piece of rancid work that benefits the criminals at the expense of the victims you are determined that it will be kept in place. Perhaps I'm being cynical here but this wouldn't have anything to do with you being married to a senior partner in a law firm perchance?

"he promised that he would not rest until the party had won back all their lost seats – and gained some more."

Better get a crate of Red Bull in then.

I mostly despair

All right Clegg I have a question for you:

The HRA incorporated the European Convention on Human Rights, including article 3 of the First Protocol  which states that 'the UK has undertaken to hold free elections at reasonable intervals by secret ballot, under conditions which will ensure the free expression of the opinion of the people in the choice of the legislature.'

You also defend stronger ties with the EU but whether you are a supporter or a sceptic you cannot deny that the European Parliament has introduced large amounts of legislature into UK law without giving the people the free expression or choice.

Doesn't that suggest incompatible policies at the very least?
