First few minutes are good, got to give him huge credit for being the only party leader to actually defend energy companies making a 5% profit.

Will watch (captions) or listen to the rest later

Update:  he was better than normal but at 24minutes in he tells a whopper

Quote from: Nigel Farage
60% of private sector jobs are provided by companies with less than 10 employees

The true figure is 32.4% and you have to include companies up to 250 employees to get up to 59% http://www.parliament.uk/briefing-papers/SN06152.pdf

He also said that Wind Power produces zero when the wind'sreally  blowing.  Now I may hate the damn things but the facts are that they were producing over 2GW (over 5% of UK consumption) at the height of Monday's storm and in tonights windy conditions are producing over 5GW right now.

http://www.gridwatch.templar.co.uk/download.php

He's way too quick to throw out untrue but populist quotes just to win popularity.  He also ends with his vision of most UK workers having no employment protection whatsoever and that's more than a little sus.

Oh he repeated that lie about the cat and invented imaginary populations for Bulgaria and Romania too.  NF: a smile, a joke, a fact, a lie.  Repeat until enough taken in.

A decent interview host would have shredded him

You should check your figures too...

You can't have your 32.4% figure on one hand and then claim that "most UK workers having no employment protection"...

Having employed 45 people I'm completely with him on the employment protection thing... Current employment legislation is a complete nightmare... Honestly, I would NEVER employ anybody ever again....

And he's right about wind turbines - they don't produce power when there is too little or too much wind - the fact they produced 2GW (only 20% of the installed capacity) during the storm somewhat proves the point doesn't it....? You would hope that when it was really windy they would be spinning around like tops and your lekky meter would be going backwards.... Of course the don't, they have to feather the blades to protect the gearbox...

For me, it was a great interview...

No need.  He clearly wanted us to assess his submission on the (incorrect) understanding that 60% of workers were in businesses of 10 or less.  He then wanted us to accept stripping all employment protection from employees of such businesses.  So he's wanting to persuade us to remove all employment protection from 60% of all workers.
Well, whatever, nevermind

But you are playing the same game you accuse him of....

He can't be wrong on both counts can he...?

Err yes he can

He introduced a false stat to ry and show how UK business was so different to the EU

He then said he wanted to remove all protection from employees of such businesses.  It's dead fair to assess his idea in the conditions of the stat he wanted us to use.  Or are you saying we should let him off for being a fibber?

Well.... for you it is clearly case closed and the man can say/do no right in your eyes....

For me, I'd be tempted to look more closely at the figures before writing him off on this one... just as I did on the wind farm claim....

As it turns out he was right and you were wrong - even when it is blowing like fuck windy millers don't produce their rated capacity... or perhaps some did and some were useless because it was too windy....

Personally, I don't think for a second that he would pull the 60% figure out of his arse...

When did I say they produce their rated capacity when it's windy?

He was the one that said they produce ZERO and the stats say he's wrong

And when did I say "the man can say/do no right"

If you look back I said no such things and I even gave him credit but even his biggest fan would have to admit he's gaff and fib prone.

Well, given the storm was patchy to say the least....

...and given that during the storm (the windy storm when it was really windy and there was plenty of wind) all the windy millers produced only 20% of their rated capacity...

... I for one am willing to believe that some of them produced zero...

Sorry, I thought it was established fact that windy millers had to be feathered when the wind exceeded certain speeds....

I think picking him up on that point proves the other... ;)
