« on: April 02, 2011, 03:31:58 PM »
So I was informed by the brat today that we can spend some 'quality time' togevva tomorrow.

I have made my own plans thanks and inform her that I am going to lunch with Pastis.

S'ok when you get back we can go out  eeek:

Suspiciously I ask for more details  rubschin:

We can go to the pictures to see this film she says. Some crap youff crap. Shouldn't I be able to decide what we watch I suggest. Then the huffing starts , and the mutterings about you try to make the effort, not appreciated round here, nothing else on I wanna see yadda , yadda, yadda . Oh happy days  lol:

In the absence of SWWLTBO (who is at her Mother's today) I have, acting on the boys' instructions, purchased flowers and cards for them to give her.

Tomorrow I will, no doubt, have to get them up and prepare for her a breakfast they can take to her in bed. I shall then spend the rest of the day ensuring she enjoys their company. They have also asked that I prepare a special dinner for her. The THW will, of course expect me to have got flowers and a card for her to give her mother, I am not so much of a b@st@rd as to have not done so as I know she will have done and will do nothing to help. I shall smile brightly and kindly throughout.

At some time during the day, like many others here, I shall take a few minutes alone to reflect upon my own late mother.

Frankly I fvcking hate Mothers Day.

I drove my daughter to town today so she could buy a gift and card for her mother. My son declined to come, leaving it all to his sister. Every other shop had some sort of "Mother's Day" display/signs and Clinton Cards was heaving. Definitely over commercialised like so many special "events" these days.

She ended up buying a DVD and chocs. I suggested a doormat as a gift. My daughter didn't get the joke though I assured her her mum would.

Like Valentines's day if you don't buy something you're seen as as a heartless bastard. We're all being blackmailed to spend, spend, spend.
