Sadly it is obsolescent set of electronics in a airframe with serious safety issues. Bloody wings don't all fit either. Still a lot of ex-staff officers will have had a fair number of jollies and golf games off the back of this as usual.

We could have taken out the electronic gizmos and used the aircraft to fly all the illegals out of the country and if the aircraft were faulty well .... who cares?
Either way we get rid of a lot of unwanted people.

Sadly they rebuilt the airframes and the electronics at the cost of billions to the taxpayer... 

Happily I am no longer a taxpayer....
