We apparently will not be having one this year. It was his job today but not a priority obviously. So our festive dinner party next week will be less than festive I'm thinking. C'est la vie or should I say guerre?

Not on my list and a Christmas Tree is a 6ft thing with needles and mud, not something that would fit or be put into my car even if I could lift it. I am sure the female guests will inflict suitable humiliating comments on my behalf when they arrive. I do not have to say anything.
