Some goof rang my landline yesterday claimed he was conducting a survey for Transport for London. Should only take about 25 minutes he says. ONLY !
I put the phone down  evil:

I am always say I am happy to take part in their telephone survey BUT I tell them that my time costs £35 an hour or part thereof and I will only answer questions after they have agreed to pay and given me their company name, address and order number for the invoice ..... amazingly they always say they can't do that.
I then say "Goodbye" and hang up. One day somebody may pay me but I am not holding my breath. Only one ever argued with me and I pointed out that my opinions have been formed from a lifetime of experience and that doesn't come cheap!
It's worth winding them up a bit and making their employer pay for the phone call ... which I cheerfully extend with my little speech.  eveilgrin:
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

Some bloody random twat has just phoned me from a call centre...can't even remeber who he said he was from now cus I generally speaking don't really listen or concentrate when I hear the familiar back ground call centre type chitty chatter noises.

He started asking me questions about my employment status, and asking me was i still employed in 'the industry'.
I just can't help being sarcy with these tits, so just answered in a totally bored voice, might be, might not be, what's it got to do with you ey?

His reply?

Ahhhhhhhhh, FUCK OFF then, and slammed the phone down on me. Angry9:

I had similar a few weeks ago; I'm sure I must have posted about it  confused:

Had another one, only worse, about six years ago.

Mrs G took the call whilst we were all having our tea, and quite politely declined his offer of a free quote for some kitchen improvement or some other such cheap and nasty crap.

The arrogant bastard obviously took great offence at this, and rang back 2 minutes later. I answered the call, and he launched into a quite unbelievable and obscene tirade of abuse at me.
I couldn't actually get him to hear me such was the tone and volume of his voice, and besides, the nippers were sitting right next to me.
I had to simply cut him off, mid flow.

Absolute and sick animal of the lowest degree. sick2:

I used to work with a chap who would answer his home phone to .... "Hello can I speak to Mr...".

All he used to say was "Certainly, I will go and get my dad." Then put the receiver down on the side and carry on watching the footy etc.

The idiots would stay online for the next 5 or 10 minutes. Calls are cheap these days so it does not cost them much in telephone charges, but it wastes the time of the arsehole on the other end. They do not get much of a basic wage and rely upon commission. You soon get taken off of their list of 'clients in need of a call'.  ::)
