I went out for a walk at 6.30 this morning. WHole palce awash with unfamiliar wildlife. CHipmunks I now recognise. Black squirrels have started to seem normal. But WTF was that big shaggy thing about the size of an alsation with a trailing tail and lots of black fur that was watching me with orange eyes from behind a bush. scared2: It had a snout eeek:

Well, someone had to say it!

Good point. There is some resemblance except it was dark brown and very very furry. I hastened my pace and kept looking behind to make sure it wasn't following me scared2:

Timber Wolf ~ Comes in various colours including black, grey and a mixture of the two as well as white.

On the other hand it might have been an Alsatian (AKA German Shepherd Dog)

Adopt a Wolf Pack for a Xmas present! Must try that on the rellies. And Mrs Nick scared2:

The mysterious beast may have been one of these, but a big one:

Groundhogs raised in captivity can be socialized relatively easily; however, their aggressive nature can pose problems. Doug Schwartz, a zookeeper and groundhog trainer at the Staten Island Zoo, has been quoted as saying "They?re known for their aggression, so you?re starting from a hard place. [Their] natural impulse is to kill ?em all and let God sort ?em out. You have to work to produce the sweet and cuddly

Errr hang on a moment, furry wolf like body? Snout resembling that of a wild boar? It sounds like it could be the Waheela or the Shunka Warakin. They are cryptids (believed to be extinct) the appearance matches the Shunka Warakin more but as far as I remember they were seen in the northern territories. They were more commonly known as Dire Wolves. Inuit legend refers to one called Amarok. It is reported to travel alone and not in packs as modern wolves tend to.
The universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements. Energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest.
