Alternative is to not buy a photo-printer at all.

Take your piccies on a CD/stick to somewhere like Jessops and get them printed there. Their prices are quite good and no worries about printers working, cost of ink paper etc.
Also, I am still not convinced that printed piccies will last - ie inks fade/vanish.

I think they are much more stable than they used to be...

Also, is it possible to buy a non-photo quality printer now...?  rubschin:

Depends if you want colour or not.

I'm quite happy with my mono laser.

Photos are commited to CD/DVD.

My problem is that I have loads of slides and photos that are obviously digital and need scanning, along with loads of family records.
I have my dads Fleet Air Arm service record/flag - it is cloth and somewhere approaching A3 size - a real bugger to digitise.

My brother has a similar problem. Like you he has large hands/fingers (see I do notice these things) and he claims that is the problem. I suspect the size of the hands/fingers has something to do with the sort of job he does (who has ever seen a butcher with piano player's hands?) Not to put too fine a point upon it brute force is his method. Maybe you should get Mrs G or even Mini Moose to put the paper in for you.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.
