Pipes wires and valves 'n stuff all suffering?
« on: June 03, 2010, 01:01:35 PM »
Is everything in here going slow and crashing regular, pages not loading properly and stuff, 'cus of this new wireless thingy that I've now got?
Up to 3 puters werkin' at the same time must put a lot of strain on the items in the thread title I'd have thought?  rubschin:

Three PCs shouldn't really affect it unless they are all downloading at the same time... If they are all being used simultaneously then yes, the speed is divided between all three...

Try switching the modem off and back on again...

That is switch it off and on again at the wall socket ~ DO NOT TOUCH THE RESET BUTTON 'cos if you do no PC/laptop or anything in the house will work until they have all been reconfigured to the new settings that the router will give itself IF YOU TOUCH THE RESET BUTTON!
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

I'm getting confuslicated again now.  ::)

I ALWAYS turn the puter and all associated bibs and bobs off at the socket when I go to me nest.
It saves electric apparently, according to a expert I was talking to last year. happy088

That's fine but don't touch the reset button!

BTW my late Father in Law, a highly intelligent man ~ industrial research chemist by trade ~ used to switch everything off at the sockets whenever they left the house. Mind you he also switched on the burglar alarm and then turned off the socket that fed it so it ran on batteries only whilst they were out ..... not popular with the neighbours.

He would also not switch on the ansaphone in case burglars rang to check the house was empty and on getting the ansaphone realise that they had a clear path to the family heirlooms.

Like I may have mentioned a highly intelligent chap but well short of common sense.

Very wise to, it can be nasty if you get an electricity leak while you are out and come back with wet feet or whatever.  noooo:

He also used to set ZONE ONE of the alarm when he went to bed at night ~ that covered the ground floor only.................
