Convex mirrors

The council have recently installed one of these on a bend in the road near home. What an excellent initiative ::). Designed to assist a clear view of hidden oncoming traffic it should be a boon to road safety, I guess.



I've tried to use it (no, not the one in the picture). Because of the distortion and 'extra' information I can see about twenty parked cars on both sides of the road, overhanging trees, road signs, lamp posts, front gardens, pedestrians and somewhere in the middle a thin fillet of tarmac which, depending of the light and time of day, hovers in and out of view.

It's a mess. Yesterday, I glanced upwards to see if anything was coming the other way... only a second or two, trying to distinguish the stationary from the moving and yes, you've guessed it... nearly hit an oncoming car whose driver was probably doing the same.

I fear it might have to disappear... at dead of night... probably...  evil:

If you want a hand at removing council property including...swings, seats, slides, climbing frames and no parking signs, then I know a man who can.
I'm not saying any more than that cus you really don't know who's reading this shite, but suffice to say...he's good. Double time rates for after dark 'activities' and a supply of Duracell batteries and a long extension lead will be required.
Own chain saw, hammers, saws and angle grinders will be provided however.

Problem here is that they can also make you look fat.

Err, no, but I think he may have been operating near here recently.
A 'safety'  Scamera was recently completely uprooted near here without trace.
Yea, I know, scousers will nick anything, even if it's bolted to the floor.

 confused: Here they just torch them... fusing the wires. I guess they haven't twigged the resale value  ::)

They put one on the road into one of the local villages here about 18 months ago, just round a bend where it was hard to see or remember.

Unfortunately it was on a narrow bit of the road and overhung slightly.

After several 'accidents' with agricultural machinery, they took it away.  whistle:
