Doing things the hard way
« on: July 08, 2007, 09:40:59 AM »
I'm one of the worst culprits of this.

Yeterday, I decided to attempt the fixing of my trailer lights that I broke on the day i got it. Smashed beyond repair, and finished off completely by a herd of sheep....i kid you not. eeek:

So, off to Halfrauds to purchase 2 new units.

After much fannying around, sitting in me swamp, fiddli' and fartin' about TRYING to fit them, unsuccessfully due to the spade connections being a different size requirement on the new ones, and not having these larger connectors to hand, I finally gave up for the day.

Sitting here quietly, glass of red in hand, it suddenly dawned on me. eeek:

I've got a fully operational and perfectly good trailer board, complete with stick on numer plate that the trailer hasn't got, hanging up waiting for action in the bloody garage! eeek:

Why TF don't I sit down and think about these things BEFORE plundering ahead.
Am I alone in this wilderness of utter doziness? sad32:

Nope. I bought a 30 metre extension lead yesterday and then found that the mower houses its own, er, built in extension lead. Didn't make much difference though cos the bastard exploded when I plugged it in!

I haven't told Mrs Nick akbout the mower yet. Am going back later to see if it has, perhaps, sort of healed up overnight. cry:

Unless it was just a thermal cut out, that is not likely to have happened.  whistle:

I almost called in to see you and Growler and perhaps even Snoopy this weekend... I was supposed to be in Chester on a course Friday/Sat & today but there were not enough takers, so it was called off. Never mind perhaps last 2 days of August?

For my sins, I am however going to Loughborough Uni, on the 25th to 27th of July, but I don't think that is close enough to anyone to meet up.  sad24:

I have looked at a map.  ::) I do realise that.
I sent an e-mail to a friend who used to work (research) there, to ask what I could or should do in the evenings and free time.  rubschin:
The reply: It was 15 years since I worked there and 6 since I left the area and on infrequent visits back, it has changed out of all recognition. You are on your own.  Gee Ta.

And I am scheduled to leave around 16h45 on Friday evening. Bliss  surrender:

She and the Boy have gone out for the day, so it is blissfully quiet here. And the rain has just lashed down so obviously the thought of lawnmowing or hedge trimming is quite quite impractical. I might get electrocuted or something. No, not safe to do.

Think I might have to go to the pub instead. confused:
