Downloading music
« on: February 03, 2010, 08:48:36 AM »
It's illegal isn't it? You can get caught and be prosecuted can't you? You can have your IP disconnected can't you?
All true as far as I'm concerned, unless you pay for these downloads, correct?

Well would someone mind telling Mini Moose this, 'cus she reckons it's all ok, and "anyway, all her friends do it." ::)

That's all ok then in'it? noooo:

I've told her to stop it, but she carries on regardless.
I'm now waiting for confirmation and some horror story's from you lot, and then I shall show them to her before putting my big fat paw down....HARD. evil:

You're right it is illegal...

And Lord Mandy has decreed that they can force your ISP to disconnect you without recourse to appeal.

Yes, Lord Fondlebum was on holiday with David Geffen and announced the new hard line as soon as he got back. Quite a coincidence

But Mini Moose is correct in that almost everyone does it. On the basis it is for personal use

So on that basis then. the conclusion is that she can carry on and I turn a 'blind eye' and a 'deaf ear' then, yes?
This doesn't bode well for me putting me paw down does it?

Haven't there been any cases of downloaders getting nicked, fined massively and chucked into jail yet then? rubschin:

I'm not saying it's right - I'm just confirming that it is the norm especially amongst her peer group.

Of those that have been caught and fined they were mainly done so for uploading the material for these peer to peer sharing sites as far as I know.

Disconnect the internet connection ~ That's my preferred method of stopping things I don't like her doing on line.eveilgrin:

Google a phrase something like "fined for downloading music" and email her the results  whistle:

It's on it's way. That'll detract her from downloading for a while hopefully. eveilgrin:

But with typical teenage gerl logic she will assume you will be paying the fine. After all it may be her that is downloading but I bet it is your connection she is using. whistle:
