Ricky Gervais ~ second only to Jonathon Ross in the up his own arse stakes.

Other runners would include Harry Hill, Harry Enfield, Paul Whitehouse, Matt Lucas and David Walliams

Don't hold back,Growler, tell it like it is.

Personally I really like Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse. Also Mitchell and Webb, and Amstrong and Miller. All good stuff. Witty, and not snidey.

I really like Harry Hill, especially TV Burp.  cloud9:
He always makes me laugh, so THAT in itself is an absolute bonus.
Not many can make that claim to fame. noooo:
Many others too, seeing as he won some tv comedy show award recently.

Harry Hill was a genius until he decided on the mass audience scripted prime time shite.

"My grandad opened a bed shop in Basingstoke called beds, then a shop accross the road opened up beds beds beds, my grandad went for beds beds beds beds beds, the other shop beds beds beds beds beds beds beds beds, my grandad beds beds beds beds beds beds beds beds beds beds beds beds beds beds beds beds beds... what a ridiculous situation to get into"

Gervais also, podcasts funny, stand up funny and quite clever. TV Series are good but have potential to actually turn into 'when the whistle blows' as pointed out though as a famous person he either develops the persona of a total cunt or he is always thus and usually masks it better...

And you think these twats compare to real comedians? I'd rather watch Bernard Manning.
Harry Hill is not witty and is about a funny as a dose of syphilis. Harry Enfield was a one trick pony. Sense of humour? ~JHC you'll be telling me that Reeves and Mortimer are funny and that Noel Edmonds is entertaining next.

You want comedians then think Tommy Cooper, Eric Sykes, Tony Hancock, Spike Milligan, all men who knew how to create real humour. Think Humphrey Littleton, Barry Cryer, John Cleese. Educated and witty men all.

Actors, some Rada and RSC trained, like Warren Mitchell and others like David Jason, Bob Hoskins, Ron Moody etc who can make you laugh or cry with a simple gesture. Pure genius.
