I am now a Techno God
« on: December 28, 2009, 03:51:14 PM »
I have just mastered ripping CDs and loading them onto my new (and first ever) MP3.

Me lug 'oles are now thrilling to "The Complete Great American Songbook" (Rod Stewart) following which I shall be moved seamlessly on to some selected favourites from Willie Nelson, Elvis P (Yeah and wot of it HUH?) and Eva Cassidy who in turn will all be replaced by a generous helping of Humph and then George Melly to wind things up.

12 hours of my own music to the exclusion of all the racket that comes out of the THW's room cloud9:
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

Oh and I have also shown SWWLTBO how to use Windows 7, installed M/soft Office 2007 and AVG for her. She thinks I am wonderful.

I didn't tell her that I have never seen Windows 7 before  redface: ~ Good innit? Windows 7 that is  whistle:

Honestly..... when would I use it? I seldom go out, I have TV, PC, lap-top, Mobile and land line phones, Radios (digital), CD players, DVD players/recorders, MP3, and several hundred books. When would I use an ipod and for what purpose? I see owning one as an unnecessary expense for someone like me. Wife and kids have such things. I just don't have a use for one .... and I am already cool cool14:.

It was a gift and even I am not rude enough to say "I didn't want that I wanna ipod  angry041:"

If asked I would have declined the MP3 but I was not consulted and the giver was so pleased with their idea that I feigned delight because that is what Christmas is about.

Definitely not a fan of anything Apple, especially ipods. Serious design problems that Apple ignored and refused to correct, or offer any compo - they were meant to fail/fall apart. Lotsa of superior stuff elsewhere.

Snow - not much, only came down for a few hours. Massive congestion around Gander Green Lane apparently. Buses running normally.
Bit more snow coming down now.

Glad this stuff wasn't around yesterday, although I didn't go to the pub, when I went past, there were an awful lot of people there for the funeral - big turn-out.

Glad I don't live down Devils Punchbowl way - road closed.

I shall go for a stroll around Wallington later.

[serious] Have you tried 'talking books' ? I find it quite a good use for an MP3 player, as my eyes are not what they were. [/serious]
