Awkward incidents with total strangers
« on: December 10, 2009, 06:03:06 PM »
Right. Tottering down to the station this morning I saw a woman getting out of her car just ahead of me. She locked the car and began walking next to me cos I arrived at the same time. I thought this felt stoopid and slowed down a bit, so did she, evidently thinking the same thing. So I speeded up just as she did the same. It felt idiotic and it was clear neither of us wanted to be associated with the other  noooo:

So I crossed the road andheaded off down a side street. I got back on course and as I was walking past a shop she came out of it and we ended up side by side AGAIN.

We sort of glared at one another and I said "I am heading for the station", and she said "So am I!"

We got into different carriages

Very cinematic.

Awaiting Chapter #2.  I always find the merry little dance strange as you walk toward someone and you both start avoiding left, avoiding right, ooops correction, and then nearly bump  rubschin:

I forgot to say that this blasted wumman got off at the same station as me.

Was it AINSDALE station? Was the shop a cake shop?

Did you whistle the theme from 'Brief Encounter'?

Was she nice?  eyes:

So you didnt invite her up the road to 'The Dispensary' and ply her with drink then?

Do they still make port?
I have always thought that the worst thing about drowning was having to call 'help!' You must look such a fool. It's put me against drowning.

Sounds like an old Andy Williams song.

I try to avoid situations such as Nick describes, mainly because I don't like people very much.
