UPDATE:

So it is a criminal case in a proper criminal court in front of a judge, the scrote suspect's lawyer want to cross examine me under oath to try to prove that he could not possibly have committed the crime...  eeek:

I've never been in a court, let alone a Cypriot one, under oath and all proceedings in Greek!  scared2:

So I've had to hire a lawyer at €250 per hour (or part thereof) to interpret/represent me!  cussing:

First thing the lawyer said was, "You never, ever sign a witness statement in Cyprus!"  Banghead

Why not just turn up in court by yourself and reply to every question in Greek with 'Que'

How the hell do you have to pay for an Interpreter? evil:

What would happen if you just turned up and confirmed can't speak Greek ( English is also a challenge sometimes  lol:).

TBF it is a Greek speaking island and all the proceedings will be in Greek...

Unlike the UK they don't think they should fund someone who can't be bothered to learn the lingo... I think it is contempt of court if you turn up without somebody who can...

It is just unfortunate in this instance that a 'good deed' is going to cost me wonga... Won't do that again!
