At the "office". Phone conference later and then "lunch" with Nod.

Going to the Immigration Department in Limassol (long story) then shopping in Lim, perhaps 'lunch' out...

Long story, but you essentially have to apply for the right to reside here and prove you have enough squids and health insurance, etc.

We have jumped through various hoops and eventually ended up with a yellow form called a MEU1.

Unfortunately, post Brexit vote all the whinging expat remainers have made a big fuss about what will happen when we finally leave...

So there is another level, a yellow form called a MEU3 which gives you a permanent right to reside here. MEU1 didn't expire anyway so it was effectively the same thing...

ANyhoo, so many expats have done this now that it has become sort of de rigueur to have it. We made an appointment back in May and turned up today with loads of stuff (including five years of bank statements) to prove we have lived here permanently for at least five years and therefore qualify for the MEU3. Half an hour and €44 later we were done and our application sent off to Nicosia...

Unfortunately, MEU3 specifically refers to EU citizens so it is prolly all a waste of time anyway... ::)

Or why not take Cypriot citizenship?  I’m sure with a serious weekend of collapso you’d pass the character test

€44?  ouch
Well, whatever, nevermind

We may get a passport - it should be easier with the MEU3. The process can take up to seven years! lol:

That is the annoying thing... there is no buggering about here. There is already agreement that we can stay as we are.

The buggering about is wholly on the part of shrieking expat remoaners... ::)
