Sydney

Still gets my vote as best city in the world but is it effin expensive or what?

And more than a bit odd on the fringes   As we drove in we saw signs that several streets were imminently to be closed for a special event. Oh good says Mrs K, maybe it's a Father Christmas parade (see Miracle on 34th st). Was it hell, turns out it was the 18th annual 'Transgender day of Remembrance' parade.  eeek:

So we didn't exactly rush down to watch it

Now in Chinatown
Well, whatever, nevermind

I suspect it may be but thought it impolite to ask anyone

So we hid in our room deciding on which expensive parking option to choose. Went for the A$20 a visit or 24 hours option. That's £15 in what used to be real money
Well, whatever, nevermind

Shrugs:

Try American Pastoral or Arrival, they've had good feedback so far

That's the rate they negotiated with the nearest car park.  Their default is £30 a day!

Welcome to the world of city parking in these days of the devalued £

You'd feint if I told you how much the room is costing but it's a very nice room and Sydney's Chinatown is a great place to be.  We figured we could be frugal and let our (ill gotten?) money rot in a bank or think "fuck it, enjoy it while we can"

Well, whatever, nevermind
