I can honestly say that yesterday I ended up probably the most scared I'd ever been in my life. Mrs JOM was navigating and said, "Ooh, we could go that way on that white road on the map, bound to be some nice views". So off we went, ignoring the A and B roads, through the Wrynose pass and on to the Hardknot pass. Now the warning was there for me and others to see at the start of the second pass "road suitable for light vehicles and cars only. Unsuitable for all vehicles in winter conditions", but on I went, up to fourth gear, then down to third, then second and as the 90 degree and 170 degree bends came along, down into first for the last 600m or so on the 1:3 sections. I was gripping the steering wheel as hard as I could, I was revving the bollocks off the car scared of it stalling, but fortunately my worst nightmare didn't come, a car coming the other way
Never ever again

This bloke did a video of it on his Harley [/url] , it doesn't really show the sheer drops to the side and behind you on the bends, but gives an idea of how bad it is. If you don't like bikes or roads, enjoy the scenery
