Read it on leg-iron this morning...

It should be illegal for politicians to exclude themselves from any laws which they impose on them that elect them....

They wouldn't be so keen on an alcohol supertax if they lost the subsidised bar and 'subsistence' allowances as a result...

I have forwarded the URL to the good professor. I like this comment on Leg iron

Quote
Ignoring Bans
I can's see people complying if they tried it here in Spain. The Spanish have a knack of completely ignoring laws they don't like (especially traffic ones). The council here put up a "No Entry" sign on a road opposite me a couple of months ago and everyone just ignores it, even the Police!

The British have been browbeaten into accepting subservience to their government. No wonder Friday and Saturday evenings are volatile drunken beerfests. Everyone is so pi**ed off and angry, it's a way of letting off steam.

What could the Police do if everyone just ignored these bans, arrest hundreds of people?

Given that the Scots Nats running the Government North of the Border have indicated that they are 100% behind this plan to ban restrict drinking habits it is no surprise that Diageo have reacted to the Scottish Assemblies plan to save jobs in their distilleries with a resounding "Piss off" is it? I mean ~ what would you do if you were Diageo?
