I know little of the public sector but would have thought with the depth of knowledge our MissD has of it, there would be a fine opportunity to consult
into it. Are they not all trying to cut staffing costs and buying in expertise on an
ad hoc basis?
Actually, I did have a little brush with the 'public sector' earlier in the summer; I was asked to submit a quote for providing a particular, short term service which I duly did more as a favour than a need because I know the people involved. I then went off on my recent 'overseas' contract (ok ~ hols!) and returned to find the need had been filled by someone else. The reason? There was so much paperwork and checks to carry out (including CRB checks!) they opted to book someone who was already on their books.

Frankly I was quite relieved to find I didn't have to do it.
