I have always "Supported" Southampton FC because I was raised there.
I have been to 2 professional football matches in my life. When I was eight (1955) my Dad took me to watch the Saints because Stanley Matthews was playing (for the other side) in one of his last games as a professional. The second was in 1976 when I took my own eight year old son to Wembley to watch the Saints beat Manchester United in the FA Cup.

My support for the team consists of checking their scores and position in the league on a Sunday morning when I reach the last pages of the papers. I don't even bother with the match reports. My elder daughter is a devout fan however ~ goes to every match she can get to (and she lives in Milton Keynes!!!)

This is my token gesture to being masculine ~ used mainly when I have a haircut. It's that or talk about holidays in Costa Fortune ~ which I have never done.

I went to see Chelsea get beaten 2-1 by Stoke at Stamford Bridge when I was about 12 and have never been again.

Most exciting game I have seen was when Greece won, um something a couple of years ago. They had a big-screen in the village square and everybody turned out for the occasion wearing t-shits with the flag on.

Luckily, Mrs. Barman cuts my hair so I don?t have to converse with her at all ? let alone show an interest in footie!

It's just not right. I don't like the sport either and I still end up there!

I am not chasing him down the aisle as it happens. I have my rock. I am quite cloud9:

I've lost interest in football already, I only go because MILFH won't leave me in her house alone.  rolleyes:

I did suggest once that I "make my own arrangements" for a few hours. The row!!! The row went on for weeks! I daren't suggest it again.  scared:

However, Mr Wench is close to taking his driving test so hopefully once we are independantly mobile a meet up for a drinkie poo might well be in order!  lol:

Southamptons win meant that Preston failed to make the play offs, which delighted me for 2 reasons, A.  Preston turned us over 3 times this season, and B.  Nugent will now be available for transfer and he'll hopefully come to Sunderland, who BTW were champions this season, havent I mentioned that yet ??
