Spontaneous explosions
« on: July 11, 2009, 06:47:33 PM »
Is it possible (theoretically like) that a car left in the hot sun and then cooling, and then hot and cool again for a few days) might suddenly blow all its windows out. Like?

Who is the owner of this hypothetical car?

It could influence the answer.

Tit!

Mind I have known a rear window to do that on a hot day. I got into the car, which had been parked in the sun and slammed the door and the rear window exploded outwards. The glass man said it was not unusual given the air pressure inside the vehicle would build up in the heat and the added pressure caused by the slamming door would force the rear window out. Mind that was donkey's years ago in an Austin 1100.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.
