Before you swap the memory over is your machine rigged for dual channel memory?

If 2 slots are a different colour to the other 2 then you may need to pull 1 pair out as if the memory doesnt match it can get more confused than BM with a set of shower instructions.

Bit of a bind trying to figure out which slot was which though but I figured if I took one of them out and started up again the system profiler would tell me which was missing... which it did. Simples, apparently.
