There's actually a serious question involved here.  One I've asked before in other places:

An unemployed woman who is struggling to feed her existing 3 kids is discovered to be pregnant.  What should society do?

a) Give her more money knowing she'll probably have even more?

b) No more money and let her and her kids live in (even more) squallor in some vain hope the fathers can be found and made to pay?

c) Take the kids off her?

Cathy Come Home took (c) off the table.  Labour have gone for (a) but I still tend towards (b)

Well, whatever, nevermind

Definitely (b).

If you can't feed them, don't breed them.

It simply isn't fair to expect the rest of society to pay for your lifestyle choices . FFS contraception is cheap and easily available....

The counter argument is that's punishing the kids for choices they didn't make but then (a) is punishing all of us for choices we didn't make.

In days gone by they'd have tied up her tubes.

Get the fathers to pay ( take from their benefits ) …or if they don’t know who the father is ..?  Tough ..!…

Why should others suffer …I never had children purely because ..a .I knew I was too selfish and having a good time and then b ..was not in a finically place to have them …..

The only manufacturer that tried then to stop it was Merc ….on their S-class ….they put a secondary chip which was a bastard to change …although it didn’t show on dashboard ..main dealers could “read” it ….
