Well ~ if someone collects plates (and they can be very expensive) and you buy some more for that collection it does show thought, care of choice (so as not to duplicate) and, depending on the maker of said pates, could cost quite a bit. Aromatherapy candles ain't cheap either ~ ask Mr WenchBiL bought a set of three plates for his Parents about five years ago ~ cost him well over £200 as they were a limited edition So on balance I reckon the award for Tightwad of the Birthday season belongs to .................... MRS NICK!
