Tell Mr Wench to pick up some thermacare wraps on the way home. That will help ease the muscles somewhat which should help.

I have ice packs. 10 mins in every hour. Walking for 10 mins every hour. It seems to be easing now, haven't had another spasm so fingers crossed it was just a one off.
