I can't imagine why the built in webcam didn't work straight off. Perhaps it did?, Mrs TMR (to be) has had it for a couple of weeks after all  rubschin:

Hope you've made a set of recovery disks.

From various Googling, it seems it would have worked automatically if she had gone into MSN Messenger, but as she never does she simply wanted to be able to see it in action. The HP Pavillion notebooks have Quickplay pre-installed and this too would have allowed simple, clickable functionality.

And don't worry, I have a full set of recovery disks  ;)

Still haven't sorted out the Growlers jnr's laptops yet. Mrs G said we should get them a wi thing instead. I disagreed as I thought it would cause rumpus's over telly rights.
I was right. ::)

They'll be getting laptops soon so I can resume my aquaintance with Dave. cloud9:

I just got myself a little 'Netbook. It's ever so small. Has everything except a CD/DVD drive.

I mainly put it on in the kitchen when I am getting pissed / cooking.

Mrs TG thinks it's 'cute'.  noooo:

I do not let her near it. It's MINE!

There are more computers in this house than there are people.  eeek:

Currently we have two working PCs, 3 Working Laptops and my little Netbook thing. A new Mac Laptop (or whatever they call them is en route for THW)

This does not include two non working PCs and sooooooooooooo many cables I could make a fortune out of flogging the copper.

To be honest BM I'd rather have my one computer which I built myself than a load that I've bought. I'll be gutted if I ever have to get rid of it.
