Bikers, grrr. I know, I know...
« on: June 06, 2007, 12:25:08 PM »
....been covered a million times. ::)
Is it ANY wonder they've got such a bad name though ey?

Today, I've done a round trip of Merseyside up as far as St Helens and back via L'pool. Probably seen a few thousand cars, vans, HGV's and buses, and probably about 20-30 motorbikes.
Of those motorbikes, 2 were on a complete and utter utter death wish. eeek:
First one thought it would be dead cool to overtake a line of cars on a 40 mph restricted single carriageway doing I would estimate 85-95 mph missing cars including me on both sides by approx 2/3 ft. either side. Complete and TOTAL utter brain dead breath wasting moronic tosser, with zero respect or consideration for anyone but his greedy selfish self.
Bastard. Hope he wraps himself around a tree with no one else involved before he DOES kill someone else. Evil scumbag. evil:

2nd one obviously thought he was warming up for a ficticious grand prix by 'warming' his tyres up using the distance arrows on the surface of the M56 to swerve in and out of at approx 100mph.
I was doing 75 and he was catching me up like I was going backwards.
I slowed down and moved over onto the inside lane 'just in case'
Obviously had the skills and talent of Karl Fogherty then I suppose? ::)

So out of say 40 motorbikes, 5% of them were justifying a great many peoples hatred for them.
Didn't particulary notice any crazy lunacy amongst our 4 wheeled friends tbh.
Lack of concentration and poor lane discipline yes, but no potential suiciders.

OK - the topic is bikers, but I will get rid of a lot of bile if I can use this for a whole host of matters that cause me angst.

Firstly  - bikers. DO NOT class us all like that. If those people continue to ride like that, they will die. Good. No loss to Society - such that it is. The vast majority of bikers are licenced, taxed, MOT'd and insured - and it costs a fortune in the first place to get there. Compare this to the Nova/Saxo drivers with their sewer pipe exhausts with no tax, licence or MOT. And stoned. With tuppeny whores in the back seat. And parents with tags. And wonky-eyed young babies who may have one of four fathers. This isn't just in Surrey, either - I'm sure it happens all over this piss-pot isle.

Who is more likely to kill someone - Nova man or silly twat on a bike?

Think of the overall mass and resultant impact/death chance; the advert "Hit me at 40mph and I'll have a 20% chance of living, hit me at 30mph and I'll have a 80% chance of living....blah, blah, blah". What a load of generalistic old tosh.  If I it someone at even 20mph in my car then they are dead - oops. It's a big old thing, but as long as I don't drive on the pavement and they don't walk on the road, then there should be no problem.

So Mr Power Ranger leathers on his GSXZRR1000000000 may well ride like a total kn0b, but it is he that is going to come off worse in the event of an off. Mr Chav in his Nova will run away and smoke dope all night with his friends whilst his mother  earns money for her next crack hit and a pint of milk.

In the morning, she will get up, go to her corner shop -run by persons who will smile at her whilst syphoning her money to pay for another terrorist atrocity - and over all of that, the biggest protection Racketeer, Mr Gordon Brown, will dribble over his ugly pock-marked face and wonder how he managed to take control over what was the best Country ever. And we won wars. Lots of them. Porridge w)gs like him have never forgiven us for that - it's payback time for us poor PAYE slaves.

So again, Mr Power Ranger GPZXRR91098Turbo - at the age of about 45, decides to ride like a tw@t. I don't really blame him - it has to be better than living, the way things are going. At least he has paid his way...

Prescott is not well - shame - how about getting Doctor "House"" to see to him; imgine it;

JP; "Oooh fuc* I feel I'll"
DH; "Good, I hope you die. And soon. Save us a bunch of money"
JP;" "Is the canteen still open"
DH; "Yes, but only salad and tofu tonight"
JP; "Is the girl who serves it fit"
DH; "Yes, but she also has the sense of smell and her eyes still work. Now just die, please"
JP; "Is Cherie still up for it - she'll do"
DH; "Nah, even she has standards"
JP ;"Croak...."

I  can see the point of both posters and identify with both but in truth we always see the worst of a different group of road users, be them trucks, buses, white vans, taxis, bikers, cars or pedestrians - or occasionally, aircraft!

Each one of those groups have to co-exist with the others and have their own problems, not to mention idiot faction.

In truth, I think that everyone is so frustrated in using the roads nowadays that tempers are permanently stretched to almost breaking point and when someone - anyone - especially in a different group, does something daft they get the full force of  the pent-up emotions of those around and the blast of fury drowns them - if they only knew!

Most of the time of course, the miscreants are completely unaware that they have upset anyone.  Every time a BMW pulls out in front of me forcing an emergency brake, I see the self-satisfied smirk of the driver as he KNOWS his acceleration is so amazing that he can go where he likes because he is causing no hold-ups, after all, he did get out way in front of me didn't he?  -  Or at least that is the impression he gets because I had nearly stopped.

Exactly the same with bikes - zoom - I'm gone!  didn't cause any problems that!

And so on.

All it needs is a little thought and attention.  But in a nation accustomed to receiving gems like the 2012 Olympics logo, you just know you ain't gonna get any.        noooo:

How I long for the summer days of yore, puttering down the country lanes on my ex-WD BSA 'Bantam' wearing my Everoak 'Corker' helmet and waving at the good peasants in the field.

They would wave back in cheery Churchillian fashion and shout something about being "Stuck up country.." as the words drifted off in the breeze and cloud of blue exhaust smoke.

We were so lucky compared to motorists today. cloud9:

If people wish to race motor cycles and others wish to pay to watch then I'd rather they did it in an organised fashion than up and down the village High Street where I happen to live. Pity some have to die but that's the main thrill isn't it? The danger. If there was no risk they wouldn't do it and they wouldn't attract the crowds. Seems to me that deaths are inevitable and accepted by all concerned. No problem for me.
