So Mrs Nick just called. A Chilean lady student is arriving in Scallypool next week and has e mailed her saying "It would be lovely to stay with you for a week."

She has not been invited, she has invited herself.

Mrs Nick said "SHall we let her stay or not."

My first reaction was to say that it was a cheek and what about transport and feeding etc.?

Mrs Nick was of the same view.

I said, "How old is she?"

Mrs Nick: 23

Me: Well she is a long way from home.We should make her welcome  eveilgrin:

Mrs Nick: I will see if I can find somewhere else for her then  evil:

Pity.

Perhaps Mrs Nick is assuming the lady student has a command of English to match her own whereas the poor girl may have been trying to say she is looking forward to her stay in England and spending time with the uni.  whistle:
