'Fake-death' canoe couple jailed
« on: July 23, 2008, 04:33:03 PM »
So they have been given 6 yrs and 3 mths (Him) and 6yrs and 6 mths (Her).

OK I know that under our cockeyed system they'll be out in four years, perhaps less but that is still a much harsher sentence than some drunken twat got for killing a 15 year old girl when he was pissed, out of his head on drugs and with previous driving convictions. He got five years.

So money is still more important than life.  Britain ~ you're welcome to it.

Children to educate
Health issues that Cyprus cannot cope with
Elderly Mother in Law who cannot be left behind and who will not come
Income tied to residence in UK (Yes disability benefits that will not transfer ~ I've checked)
UK Housing market in such a poor state that properties near us are taking up to two years to sell at 33% discount

Need I go on?

In short ~ Missed the boat because of health and other issues when the time was right and it is now too late.

Fair 'nuff Snoops!

We only made the move when we had to, always put it off!  Always the 'long term plan'.

And, it is my country and I am proud of it - or could be if things were better, rational and fair to those that choose the right path.

Too many don't.

That is the problem.

Are you listening you snot-picking dribbling buffoon?

This is madness...

These two are clearly no danger to the public yet they take up valuable jail space while convicted criminals are released early to commit crime again...

Surely (given that the jails are full to busting), some form of community service order would have been more appropriate?

Probably the same reason if you robbed a bank you could do more time than a rapist. They don't like riff raff taking on the establishment. If only the Darwins had been white collar workers from good families...

My wife's colleague bought the Darwins' old home outside of Durham, and apparently the place had 100 telephone lines!  eeek:
