Zonealarm
« on: July 11, 2008, 07:52:53 AM »
Thank you TMR.

Over a pint last night he was able to look in the other place and inform me of a nasty Microsoft Update which disables Zonelarm and blocks access to the interweb.
I knew that my problem was probably caused by this, as everything went pear shaped after a re-boot.
Update now removed and everything is now ticketyboo.

Will email MS with a bill for time wasted - won't hold my breath though.

I'm going to take a swag here, you installed SP3 didnt you.

Microsoft released a list of 'non compatible' programs, strangely enough the list was mainly rivals antivirus & security sodtware

Wonder if they are continuing the 'accidental' incompatibility then. Make it sod awkward to get the third party stuff to work & the non technical use their security setup as its less hassle.
