I don't know the answer, I have vague memories of Ron Ely (I think without looking it up) looking as though he'd just had a Gillette Mach 3 to his face

Don't remember any tigers ~ 'spect it depends on which films you've seen.
I do recall one where Tarzan was in the South American "Jungle" (Country was unspecified) ~ but then Hollywood has always taken liberties with original story lines.
