Proposed 42 day detention without charge
« on: June 11, 2008, 05:36:59 AM »
We really have ignored this one, prolly 'cos it is too silly for words, but the latest on the BBC News site says that in order to "get it through" the Government are going to agree to pay anyone detained for more than 28 days without a charge being laid against them compensation of £3000 for each day over the 28!
It seems no expense will be spared to enable Gordo to get his own way. If true it is the most childish gesture I have ever seen from anyone over the age of five. The man really has lost all sense of proportion. His mother should have smacked the sulky little beast when he was younger.

£42,000 for sitting around chatting to some young coppers for a couple of weeks.  rubschin:

Who is going to grass me up for buying large quantities of fertiliser that could be used to make bombs?

Who needs a cut? If we start a 'fertiliser bomb' thread or similar GCHQ will pick it up and we will all get banged up for a few weeks before they realise we are harmless loonies. Then we can all make a fortune.  happy088

Unfortunately exposing inmates to the hell that is Big Brother is illegal under the HRA Wenchy.  point:

BB is the soft version anyway. You want to see the Ted Nugent version if/when that comes back on again (I have a feeling that the contestant who was injured during a task where he had to stand on a track and play chicken with a speeding pick up truck may have scared the studio execs somewhat).
